To undertake work through the Green Homes Grant Scheme contractors must have both Trustmark Membership and PAS2030 accreditation. NFRC intends for our Competent Person Scheme to be the certification body for the GHGS for the roofing sector. To achieve this, we are migrating our Trustmark membership from the NFRC Trade Association to our Competent Person Scheme and have applied to UKAS for a PAS2030 accreditation.
If you are an NFRC Trade Association member and an NFRC Competent Person Scheme Contractor and wish to stay within Trustmark you will need to let the NFRC HelpDesk know you are happy for your details to be shared between the two companies by 31st December 2020.
If you are an NFRC member and would like to stay within Trustmark you will need to join NFRC Competent Persons Scheme .
If you are not an NFRC member, but would like to join Trustmark, you will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will not be ready to certify members to PAS2030 until at least early 2021, and we ask contractors to be patient while we put the necessary processes in place. However, the government have recently extended the scheme to March 2022 to give contractors enough time to become certified to this standard and still complete work through the Scheme.
Following the launch of our new system, we are currently experiencing a high number of telephone calls which we are doing our very best to respond to as quickly as we possibly can.
We are aware that the import of Works data into the new system is triggering a large volume of automated emails, please do not be concerned about these, we are working on the issue now. Please bear with us—if you can email your query to us then please do so—email@example.com.
Thank you for your patience.
NFRC Competent Person Scheme (CPS) is the only one of its kind in the roofing industry.
NFRC CPS allows roofing contractors to self-certify that their work meets the requirements of Approved Document L1B of the Building Regulations without having to go through the bureaucratic and costly process of getting Building Control sign-off.
For roofing contractors, the NFRC Competent Person Scheme saves you time and money, as well as assuring your clients that you can perform the work to the standards required. Contractors also have access to our in-house technical team. Go to our contractors page to find out more information and how to join.
For homeowners and commercial clients, by using an NFRC CPS contractor, you could save hundreds of pounds on an inspection from Building Control, as well as the cost of a Building Control Compliance Certificate (BRCC).
Homeowners will also have the assurance of a ten-year Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) which all NFRC CPS contractors have to have in place for domestic projects.
