The government has announced that the Green Homes Grant Voucher Scheme will no longer be extended from 31st March 2021. However, despite this, many other government funded retrofit schemes will remain and require PAS 2030 certification. NFRC CPS will continue to pursue an extension of scope for PAS 2030:2019 accreditation, and will update contractors as soon as we have obtained this.

What is a competent person's scheme?
Competent Person Schemes were established by the UK government as a way of ensuring that people who work within trades can demonstrate that they are competent and compliant.
The roofing competent person scheme was introduced to support local authorities across the UK to ensure that roof refurbishment works are conducted safely.
Why register?
Roofing contractors who are registered on the NFRC Competent Persons scheme are able to save themselves and their clients time and money by self-certifying their own roof refurbishment works.
The rigorous inspection process to achieve registered contractor status means that your residential and commercial clients have peace of mind – that their work is being carried out safely to the relevant ISO standards and they will have the right documentation when it comes to sell their property.
Mandatory Technical Competency Requirements
The new Building Safety Regulator now, for the first time, requires all roofing contractors to demonstrate that they have achieved a minimum level of competency. Most CPS registered contractors are able to demonstrate this through their inspections with us. We also work with individual contractors and larger companies to help them make sure that everyone working on roofing projects is doing so safely and to the highest standards.
Key differences between NFRC and CPS
The Roofing Competent Person Scheme is a part of the wider NFRC Group. The NFRC membership body provides information and guidance on the latest roofing techniques, materials and legislation. The Competent Person Scheme allows roofers to demonstrate their competency as a roofing contractor.
