Changes to applications and renewals

Changes to our applications and renewals processes are being introduced to align with Mandatory Technical Competencies and regulatory requirements. This page explains what’s changing and what it means for you.

Introduction to these changes

We are changing our applications and renewals processes to align with Mandatory Technical Competencies and the Building Safety Regulator requirements. This is essential for us to maintain our UKAS accreditation as a Competent Person Scheme.

What’s changing?

We will now need the name, contact information and evidence of knowledge, skills and experience of your Nominated Competent Person when you apply to join the scheme. For existing contractors, we will require updated verification at renewal.

Why are these changes being made now?

These changes have been coming for some time and we have always planned to coincide these changes with the introduction of Mandatory Technical Competencies requirements for the roofing industry.

Now that these Mandatory Technical Competencies are in force, we need to make sure our scheme remains compliant, and you can continue to self-certify your roof refurbishment work under the new rules.
